Pada masa inilah anak membutuhkan stimulasi yang tepat agar seluruh aspek perkembangannya dapat tumbuh secara optimal. Salah satu aspek yang memiliki peran sangat penting namun sering kali belum memperoleh perhatian yang proporsional adalah perkembangan keterampilan motorik dasar atau Fundamental Motor Skills. Keterampilan ini menjadi dasar bagi anak untuk melakukan berbagai aktivitas fisik, berinteraksi dengan lingkungan, serta membangun rasa percaya diri dalam mengeksplorasi dunia di sekitarnya. Fundamental Motor Skills bukan sekadar kemampuan bergerak, melainkan fondasi yang mendukung perkembangan berbagai kompetensi lainnya. Anak yang memiliki keterampilan motorik dasar yang baik cenderung lebih aktif mengikuti berbagai kegiatan bermain, olahraga, maupun aktivitas belajar yang melibatkan gerakan tubuh. Sebaliknya, anak yang mengalami keterlambatan perkembangan motorik sering kali menunjukkan tingkat partisipasi yang lebih rendah dalam aktivitas fisik, memiliki rasa percaya diri yang kurang, bahkan berpotensi mengalami kesulitan dalam menjalin hubungan sosial dengan teman sebayanya. Oleh karena itu, pengembangan Fundamental Motor Skills perlu dipandang sebagai investasi jangka panjang dalam membangun kualitas sumber daya manusia sejak usia dini.
