Buku ajar ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan kerangka pengetahuan yang utuh mengenai konsep, regulasi, kelembagaan, hingga praktik penyelenggaraan pemerintahan desa. Pembahasan dalam buku ini dirancang secara sistematis untuk memandu pembaca memahami seluk beluk pemerintahan desa, mulai dari landasan filosofis dan historis, struktur organisasi, perencanaan dan penganggaran, pengelolaan aset, pelayanan publik, hingga isu isu kontemporer seperti pemberdayaan masyarakat, inovasi desa, dan resolusi konflik. Harapannya, buku ini dapat menjadi referensi utama bagi mahasiswa program studi Ilmu Pemerintahan, Administrasi Publik, Pembangunan Sosial, serta para pemangku kepentingan desa dalam upaya mewujudkan desa yang maju, mandiri, dan sejahtera.
